No, it does not take blood pressure and it is not waterproof.

The unit does not take your blood pressure reading. It does read your heart beat/pulse. FitBit says that their products are rain proof and splash proof so you would need to use your own discretion about keeping it on while giving someone a shower. Hope this helps.

It takes your heart beat but not blood pressure. 

I would not risk getting it wet as it is not water proof. i have splashed water on mine accidentally and cleaned it off right away but I have not soaked it in water nor what I do that.
