I dont know... depends on if they are likely to put it in their mouth. Probably over ten... The mechanism sits in a rubber housing and is removable once removed it would be about an inch and a half long and about half an inch wide. Definately swallowable. Not water proof only water resistant.

I recently let my 6 year old grandson wear mine for a day because he saw mine and asked me a few questions about it. He was also wondering how many steps in a day he was walking. I let him wear it clipped on his shorts for a day. At the end of the day he proudly showed me that it had recorded 17,584 steps. He thought that was cool. I was impressed too :-)

It clips on any article of clothing whether a shirt, underclothes, waistband or pocket. The clip is very strong and I have to work at getting it off.

I can't see why not, but they would need to be careful not to accidentally push the clip off of their clothing. It only happened to me once in the 2 months I've owned this, but it did happen. Also you would need to take care that it doesn't end up in the laundry should they forget to unclip it from their clothing.

Yes, no problem. It is lightweight and the rubberized clip is able to clasp on any clothing.

The clip is small and very strong and can be hidden anywhere (pocket, shoe, underwear). However, it will come off if pulled or something gets hooked on it.

Yes, it is a small device that can be clipped inside the edge of a pocket reasonably securely.

I would think that children can use the FitBit if it fits their wrist and is set up correctly. However, if they are very active in their sleep you will see that. If you see that you may want to consult your pediatrician. As an adult who is not medically trained cannot fully answer that question.
