• Some apps require subscriptions but others are free. The ones that come with the fitbit are free except for the EKG monitor one. That one you have to pay $9.99 a month. Or it won't work at all.

• You have to purchase the ability to use the EKG. You have to purchase rights to use third party apps. Some are free but not all.
