Not sure what you may be doing wrong with the little information you provided. I'm using the same email address for both my Apple ID (which is different than my Best Buy account email) and I was able to renew this product as a new subscriber last year and just this past month as a 'returning subscriber" - the only difference is that I got one less month than listed as a returning subscriber but it's still worth it to me.
