• Hi, Karen. This model will need space around the side to Allow good air circulation. Leave a 4 inch (101 mm) space on all sides of the unit for adequate circulation. -R'Shaye

• at least 4 - 6 inches is needed on each side as sides of freezer can get hot when motor is running.
