Has to he emptied but if you do continuous you can use a garden hose to empty where you run your exhaust vent. I use a foley 2l bag and hose to the drip outlet and empty the enclosed foley bag once oer day--works great-just had to put the a/c higher than the foley bag and cut the foley hose to be shorter
