Hello. Thank you for reaching out. This model will not be damaged by rain if is properly insulated and has a good draining system.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was concerned about the same thing. I ended up fixing a screen over the exterior vent opening for bugs and debris coming in. I then sealed the exhaust port to the window insert with silicone. I then bought a dryer vent cover and used silicone and double sided tape to prevent the water from entering exhaust port. Seems to be working good.
