Bought this GPS not too long ago and used it on a road trip shortly after. It requires no monthly fees or anything of the sort and you get free map updates for life, though you should update and charge it right after purchase. It only takes a few seconds for it to pick up the satellite after turning on and I find it more accurate than Google maps.

Everything should be easy to figure out, but at almost 81yrs old, it's not. And trying to download the maps was totally frustrating. Totally disappointed in Garmin products. They should consider that there us old ones out here in the world that did not grow up with a computer.
