- Answer While the GPS is ready to use out of the box, we would suggest using the Garmin Express program to check for any map and software updates that may have been made available while the device was in transit and on the retailer’s shelf. - Answer Yes, this model includes the Active Lane Guidance, a feature that takes Lane Assist and Junction View to the next level. When on a route that contains an area compatible with Active Lane Guidance, the device will switch to split-screen view.

- Answer Yes . . . It does have provision to use a SD card. The only thing that I am disappointed with is there NO place to add phone numbers. My old GPS Garman had this option.

Question(1) Does this device require any sort of monthly or user fee? In other words, once you purchase it, there are no other expenditures? (2) Do you just enter your destination, and it knows where you are and tells you how to get to the destination?

- Answer Bought this GPS not too long ago and used it on a road trip shortly after. It requires no monthly fees or anything of the sort and you get free map updates for life, though you should update and charge it right after purchase. It only takes a few seconds for it to pick up the satellite after turning on and I find it more accurate than Google maps.

QuestionDoes this work up in the mountains where there is no signal i have a smartphone and use google maps but half the time it says gps signal lost i dont want to connect this to my smartphone i just want to plug it in my cigarette lighter and not worry
