• Based on your description, it may need a soft reset. To power the device ON with a soft reset: Connect the device to a power source and then press and hold the power button/power switch in the on position for 8-10 seconds. • Having used my Garmin, I know that it powers off everytime I turned off my ignition. But restarted when I started my truck back up. I do know, having have used other systems. The power button usually has to be held when pressed to turn on the unit. Sometimes as long as 10 to 15 seconds. I hope that this helps. Ken
