My personal issue with attempting to dash mount is that the unit’s camera is directly below the ball socket mount. Since my dash mount arm rose vertically from the mount it blocks the camera. Until I find something different I’m using the windshield vacuum overhead mount that comes with the unit. Hope this helps.
