- Answer Great questions! The built-in dash camera continuously records your drive to a replaceable microSD™ card, a 4gb card is included. The DriveAssist 51 LMT-S offers 720p and 1080p resolution and records approximately 12 minutes per GB if you are recording at the Higher Resolution (1080p). This device can use up to a 64GB card. QuestionDoes this unit need to have a different cord to get instant traffic updates without using my smartphone data, I keep getting conflicting opinions on this, I'm thinking of upgrading from my nuvi 2595 that does.

- Answer Good question. Yes, the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S will require the use of a compatible traffic receiver power cable if the Smartphone Link live traffic is not used. Both the GTM 60™ and the GTM™ 36 traffic receiver power cables are compatible with the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S. So if your other Garmin used one of these cables, you can absolutely use it! Thanks, James

- Answer I purchased the drive assist 51. It connects to wifi and updates with no issues. Also can use the included USB cable. Lifetime map upgrades are included. You shouldn't need anything else unless you want a mount different than the windshield mount. Also does not include a case.

- Answer Yes, it does so long as you calibrate the camera properly. You can also set the sensitivity and the location where you installed the GPS on your dash (left, right, or center), so it does not have to be dead center to work.

- Answer Yes. The recording function comes on when your turn on the unit. The navigation and recording work simultaneously just fine. I have only had the unit a few weeks and just got back from a business trip with it. There were no issues with the two functions working together. When you look at playback from the video recording, it displays the location as Lat/Long and speed, so it can be real handy. You just have to touch the icon on the screen to turn off the recording if you want or go into the settings to turn off just the audio recording. Hope this helps.

QuestionWe have a Garmin Nuvi 1450 which has hundreds of "Favorites" saved in it. Will we be able to transfer these favorites to a Garmin DriveAssist51, If so, how is this transfer accomplished?

- Answer Yes, all of them can be transferred using the Garmin Express program. Use it to transfer Favorites, Saved Places, and Routes from one compatible device to another. - Answer My hubby's Ford doesn't cut the power to devices when the vehicle is turned off so we unplug it or turn it off when not using it in his vehicle. The unit does power on and off when used in my Honda.

- Answer Sure does, and without the annoying “Recalculating”. Also if you SmartLink to your smartphone OR purchase the optional Traffic Data Power cable, you get traffic updates (where available) and with the Traffic Data Power cable Garmin will automatically reroute around significant traffic delays (controlled via the Options Settings).

- Answer There is built in dash cam located on the back of the device about middle. The device asks a few questions initially and you're good to go. Each time you power up, it asks if you want to re-allign the camera. We usually ignore the question and it goes away in a minute or less. If we've moved it to another vehicle or changed it's spot on the windshield, we touch the question on the screen and answer the 3-4 questions and we're good to go. Entire process less than a minute.
