My old Garmin is visible even in bright sunlight. The screen does not get drowned out by the sun and I can always see the screen with all of the road images I need all the times. Does this Garmin have the same feature? Is that what is meant by "backlit"? null

Screen is highly reflective and will act like a mirror when sun hits any surface, in the vehicle. Try to keep it shaded.

Yes. It stays lit during the night and goes into a night mode at night so it isn’t too bright. I just got back from a road trip and had no issues.
