I would return it ASAP!! It sounds like a defect. Best Buy is very good in taking returns and giving you a replacement.

Connect the device to a power source with the vehicle power cable or an AC adapter. Press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds. Once the device powers on I would suggest fully charging the battery.
