• A:Answer Because they have to support their dealer network who sells the lion share of their watches for them. Without their dealers they would go broke. Garmin would be shooting themselves in the foot if they undercut their dealers

• A:Answer I believe the GPS tracking is only for the device to track your activities like walking and running. I do not see any place in the app to see where I have been or where i am moving. If you need to track your child you could use something like life 360 but you need to connect a device to that and im not sure if you can connect a watch, maybe a samsung or apple watch.
