- Answer No. I have an iPhone and one is not needed. There is nothing to purchase through the app plus Garmin has the best privacy policy I have seen of any company, period.

Questioni'm not writing a question about this one but about a Witherings cardo scale. I think I'm only allowed one question per item but I have two questions so I'm writing on this one. How does the scale measure cardio? Does it detect heart beat through fee?

- Answer Are you interested in the units, or how close its results would be if compared to an official calibrated scale? It gives your weight to the nearest 0.1 lb (or KG, if you select metric). I experimented with weighing myself several times in a row, and it was always within 0.1 lb of the previous weights. As for how close it would agree with an official calibrated scale, I can't be sure, but, the weight I got on my first weigh-in was within a half pound of my old scale, so it's probably pretty good there too.

- Answer I gave the Best Buy web site my zip code, then checked it for product availability. It said the nearest to me had one, and the second-nearest had two. Well, sadly, the nearest had zero when I got there, but the second-nearest actually had the number (two) that the web site claimed.

- Answer It has four hard plastic (cross-ribbed gripping) feet and also comes with four small plateaus that you can use on the feet if the scale is used on a carpeted surface.
