This is a 12V car cigarette lighter cord. You will have problems if you try to charge a Garmin Nuvi with a data cable. It thinks you are trying to sync with a computer. I called Garmin tech support to get the answer. Use a 2 Amp 12V car adapter or buy a 110V to 12V adapter device with cigarette lighter socket and charge with the cable.
