Q: QuestionCan this be mounted under a cabinet ?

• A:Answer Hi Dave - Model JES1072SHSS cannot be mounted under a cabinet. With the JXA019K Undercabinet Mounting Kit (sold separately), select GE countertop microwaves can be mounted underneath your cabinetry as an alternative to free up counter space. Q: QuestionIs their a knock out for the power? Meaning, is there an I dentin for where the unit would plug into the wall? With limited space I need to place the power receptacle in the best place so that the plug doesn't chew up valuable space. Thanks

• A:Answer The power cord comes out of the top right (if you’re facing the front of the unit) rear of the oven. There is a tab that extends from the point where the cord comes out (maybe to protect from getting smashed against a wall?) but the rear of the oven also extends out in a bulge(?). There is no cord storage cavity but one could tuck the cord under the rear bulge. See photo.

Q: QuestionWhy are there 2 supports that go under the glass turntable? One has a middle pc that holds the plate in place & had the part that supports the plate while turning. The other is one pc thatdoesn't have the configuration to hold the glass turntable. Why?

Q: QuestionCan I install this microwave inside a wood cabinet?I read this microwave can be on the countertop or mounted under a cabinet. Can it be installed inside a cabinet? How much space would be needed for venting?

• A:Answer Dear Mountain Girl - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This microwave does not offer a trim kit to built into a cabinet nor a hanging kit for mounting it under a cabinet. If you wish to set a countertop microwave such as this inside a cabinet, then it should have a 3" air clearance on each side and on the top, and a 1" air clearance in the rear. In cabinet installation for countertop microwaves is not recommended without the use of a built in kit. But if a built in kit is not available, then the above air clearances are necessary. If the microwave is located near a range, a two foot clearance on the side adjacent to the range will be necessary. Microwaves cannot be mounted over a range unless they are specifically made to be an over-the-range model, with a vent included. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

• A:Answer Hi Ali - Thanks for considering GE Model JES1072SHSS! These microwaves are intended for countertop use only. We do not recommend installing them in tight spaces, like a cabinet. Countertop microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. We recommend 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. The front edge of the microwave (measured at door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. If located on the counter near a range, we recommend locating it at least 2 ft. away. Also, do not place near or over a heat source. You might want to consider GE Profile™ 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31SFSS. This model is compatible with Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX830SFSS and Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX827SFSS. The Approx. measurements of leg/feet locations as you face unit: Between front and rear feet on left side = 6.7" Between front and rear feet on right side = 6.9" Between left and right front feet = 12.1" Between left and right rear feet = 13.3" From front left foot to left side* = 2.5" From rear left foot to left side* = 1.3" From both right feet to right side = 2.4" From front feet to front of unit with door closed = 3" From rear feet to rear of unit with door closed = 2.3" Hope this helps.
