Hi - Thanks for choosing GE! Our microwaves are designed with as quiet an operation as possible. Therefore, you should not be concerned as long as it is heating your foods. Keep in touch! Sue

I was wondering why it was so quiet when I bought mine but everything works fine and now love how quiet it is. Not to worry!
