“Where is the plug located? is it on the back or top, which side? I am replacing an old Whirlpool and considering this unit. I'm also concerned about the slight size difference. Will this fit - the old specs on my WP were 29 15/16, D 15 3/8 H 16 1/4?”

Hi barb! Thanks for your question and interest in our microwaves. This unit's power cord is located on the top towards the right side if you are facing the unit. The dimensions of this microwave are 16 7/16 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 7/8 D. We cannot verify that this unit will fit since they are different dimensions and we do not know the cutout dimensions of your cabinet. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
