- Answer Hello- We appreciate you checking with us. All current OTR (over-the-range microwaves), including convection, Advantium ovens, vent hoods, and telescopic downdraft vents can be installed over gas ranges and cooktops* with combined surface burner BTU rating of approximately 65,000 BTUs or less. As long as the 66" minimum clearance from the floor to the top of the microwave is followed there will be no performance or warranty problem. ~For Pro Ranges and Rangetops, we recommend checking the installation instructions for the appliance. - Answer the newer unit fits into the space the older unit had used. BUT, the door shape of the newer unit will hit the cabinet on the left side of the unit. Your installation needs to be moved to the right to clear the cabinet when the micro door is opened. Not noticeable unless you are a nit picker.....you may have to move the hanging bracket...if you signup for Best Buy TotalTech they deliver and install the unit for free....

QuestionWe have a GE Spacemaker. First, the handle broke away. Next, the glass in the door fell into the door leaving an open gap. Can door be replaced? Where from? Also, need dimensions of 1.6 & 1.7 cf microwaves.

- Answer Hi there, Oh goodness! We're terribly sorry to hear that the handle and glass have broken from your microwave. We absolutely understand how aggravating that is. The door can be replaced, but will require service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737. The dimensions of the 1.6 cu. ft. microwave are 16 7/16" H x 29 7/8" W x 15 7/8" D. The dimensions of the 1.7 cu.ft. microwave is 16 5/16" H x 29 7/8" W x 15 9/16" D. Take care. Mike@GEA

- Answer Check the specs: measurements of width, depth and height are critical. If dimensions work, then microwave should work.

- Answer Hello there - Thanks for reaching out. We hate to hear that your 20 years old microwave is cracked. In the event of a hole in the microwave’s cavity wall, the damage is non-repairable and you should discontinue use of the product. Arcing may cause a hole to occur and, subsequently, additional arcing may occur when the microwave is used. If there is a hole in the microwave interior, we recommend that the microwave be replaced. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. - Answer Great question! Microwave models JVM3160DFWW and JVM3160DF1WW are the same model. The extra digit just adds some additional information to the model, much like when you add the area code to your local phone number. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance.
