A:AnswerHi Jerry- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. Note: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. Also, all over-the-range microwaves can be vented to the outside using standard 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular or rigid 6" round ducting and should line up with your existing duct. They are all designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation: *Outside exhaust (horizontal), *Outside exhaust (vertical), *Recirculating (non-vented). You can view the Top Cabinet Template and Rear Wall Template online: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-41080.pdf- Thanks for checking with us. A:AnswerExpect $100 plus a service call fee to fix numbers. Or you could remove the microwave to take to a shop.. The range underneath will need to be moved out either way. If you can work around the bad numbers and it still heats you can stretch out the life time. New GE microwaves can be found around $200 but you still need to install. New has a 1 yr warantee and your credit card may extend that further. Be aware that the power cord hole and screw holes seem to keep changing locations with new models or other brands. That means you may have to re-drill up to 3 holes.
A:AnswerHello AA - The model where you posted this question (JVM3160RFSS) will work well as a replacement for model JNM3161RFSS. The dimensions are the same for both models. - TREY@GEA

A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, this microwave offers a timer function that can be used at any time, including when the microwave is operating. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello Captgeb - this is Nancy at GE. We're sorry to hear that your microwave is not working properly and I am happy to help you with a great replacement model.
The good news is that all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66" min. mounting height). The height and depth of the models may vary slightly, but any of our new models could work in your current space. A model that you may like is the JVM6175DFWW.
You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable.
I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello,
Thank you for your interest in the GE Over-the-Range Microwave model JVM3160DFWW.
The model does not feature a shelf inside. It does have a
Turntable On/Off control which is a great option.

A:AnswerYes, the template should be trimmed down according to the cabinet it is being installed on. The template states: 1. Fit template to bottom of upper cabinet. If cabinet bottom has a frame around it, measure frame thickness and trim along edges A, B, C, and D
as needed to make up for frame thickness. Trim lines for ½”, ¾” or 1” frame thickness are on template.
A:AnswerWe recommend trying out an electronic reset. This can be done by resetting power at the breaker for 2-3 minutes, then powering it back on. You can also hold down the "Cancel" button for 3 seconds to try disabling the control lock.
A:AnswerYes, model JVM3160RFSS is the same as model JVM3160rf2ss, so it will fit into this same space. To review installation details, please see the installation instructions manual for this model starting on page 8 by visiting the product page, clicking on the “Features” tab and navigating to the “Manuals & Guides” section.
A:AnswerThe manual can be found on Best Buy's website page for the model and clicking the Features section. You can also search the model number on GE Appliances' website and find a link to the manual at the top of the page or at the bottom, in the Owner Support section.
A:AnswerYou'll need to select Cook Time on the control panel and then input the seconds that you would like to set for your cooking time. Also, by pressing the Add 30 Sec pad will add 30 seconds to the time counting down each time the pad is pressed. -Don@GEAppliances
A:AnswerIn all installations we recommend using the mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new microwave. We have compared the style of bracket used for your existing model and the one included with the new model. They are completely different.-Vikki@GEAppliances
A:AnswerWe're sorry to hear you're having this issue with the numbers and regular flashing. If the digital display isn't performing as normal, we recommend disconnecting the microwave from power for a couple of minutes before reconnecting; this resets the electrical components and can often resolve a temporary issue. If you aren't able to resolve this, Bodewell (GE Appliances' team of appliance care experts) can be reached at 833-426-3393. A technician would be glad to examine the microwave for any issues. -Sarah@GEAppliances
