Hi there, we're sorry to hear your popcorn burned. We know what a bummer this can be and how worrisome this is so we're happy to help. The Sensor Features detect the increasing humidity released during cooking. The oven automatically adjusts the cooking time to various types and amounts of food. Based on the information provided, you may have been using Sensor Cooking and you may also just so happen to have to replace your charcoal filter (Filter signal). The light will illuminate after approximately 6 months to alert you to replace the charcoal filter (if used) and clean/replace the grease filters. You can reset this by pushing and holding the Reset Filter Button for 3 seconds. Also, the Popcorn button section of the owner's manual on page 14 states the following: Follow package instructions, using Cook Time if the package is less than 2.0 ounces or larger than 3.5 ounces. We just finally suggest making sure your popcorn was in that weight range. Otherwise, this could've been a cause of the burn. We hope this helps and we're wishing you the very best! - Guy@GEA
