Hello there - Thanks for reaching out about this! This A/C has a drain plug at the bottom of the pan. Under normal circumstances, the drain plug should not be removed. This plug may be removed during operation to minimize water in the back of the unit; however, removing it will lower the efficiency of your unit. We're so glad that you checked. Stay cool! -Mikayla@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a small black sub base plug in the back center of the unit, removing it lowers the efficiency of the unit, so I will just pop it out and back in when I mow, if there’s water. I haven’t had the unit long so I haven’t had to do this yet. Making sure the unit is installed as instructed (slightly off level) usually prevents water from building up in the base of a unit. The unit cools a large bed and bath quite well. Only one strip of foam was included, so I had (and used) extra foam weather stripping to apply around any small gaps when installing. If your unit will be on a second story, you might want to remove the sub base plug since the back won’t be as accessible for you.
