“can this be hooked up to cold water does it heat the water”

• Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This unit has a "Hot Start Option" which will heat the water about 20 degrees F hotter than the incoming water. The incoming water temperature is suppose to be 120 degrees F in order for the dishwasher to clean properly. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

• It does not heat the water you have to use hot tap water
