There shouldn't be any water left at all if you let it run its full cycle.

A rinse agent is used on the gasket as part of the manufacturing process. This residue can cause sudsing. Simply wipe the gasket carefully with warm water to get rid of this residue. To ensure the removal of the suds: Open the door and let any remaining suds dissipate. Pump out the excess water by selecting a drain cycle. If there is a turn dial control, turn the dial slowly until you hear the water gurgling and draining in the sink. If there is a touch pad control, press the Start/Reset, let the dishwasher start, then press Start/Reset again. This will automatically put the dishwasher in a drain cycle. Put two gallons of cold water in the dishwasher and immediately pump it out as in step 2. Repeat these steps several times. Run the dishwasher through a short cycle using regular automatic dishwasher detergent to ensure the complete removal of the suds. Also, using the wrong type or too much detergent can cause over-sudsing.
