A:AnswerHi - Thank you for reaching out. In some instances the burners may cycle off. Beginning in 1/2018, all GE electric coil burner ranges have "Sensi-Temp Technology" burners. This style of burner includes a sensor and when the sensor detects a pan temperature near the limit (450 degrees F), the burner will shut off automatically until a lower, safe pan temperature is reached. This design is intended to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires. Once a lower safe temperature is reached, the burner will cycle back on. This cycling in most cases, will not affect everyday cooking as the automatic shut-off is temporary and only happens at a very high temperature. We hope this helps. Vikki@GEA
