No, you don’t need to put a water hose in or on it at all. It’s completely water free (evaporates water in the room actually.... removes it by blowing it out the wide hot air hose that goes out the window). There is no collection bucket for water, you don’t add water... you don’t have to deal at all with water. Just chill.

You can attach a drain hose to this unit if you use the dehumidification mode.
