“I was contemplating purchasing one of these chest freezers,but the fact that there is no back cover concerns me. I’d be placing it in my mudroom, which my cats have access to. I’m afraid somebody’s gonna climb into the back and get zapped….,Please explain”

Hello, thank you for your question. We certainly understand your concern regarding your cats. These chest freezers are designed with no machine compartment cover intentionally and the lack of this piece will not negatively affect the performance of your unit. If you are concerned about animals entering the machine compartment of your chest freezer, you can push the unit against a wall and still retain its full functionality. We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA
