SmartDispense™ Technology helps owners save time loading and dispensing liquid detergent (not applicable for powder detergent). The detergent reservoir will hold 50 ounces, or 32 loads - about a month’s worth((1-1/2 oz per load) 5-6 loads per week). How it works: 3 settings; Auto, Less or More (25% more or 25% less) to adjust for concentrated detergent or soft water. Weighs the load, adding no time to the cycle (which is different from top load which partially wets the clothes to test absorbency). Low level detergent alert at 10 loads and will start counting down. Loads left are calculated on previous habits. "Tank Low" will display when the SmartDispense tank needs to re-filled. Typically, this first lights up when there are approximately 8-10 loads of detergent remaining. "Loads Left" displays the estimated number of wash loads left for the amount of detergent in the SmartDispense tank. Tank is not where it is mixing with water so just as mold will not form in detergent bottle, it won't grow in the container. But its easy to remove and rinse out at the sink if desired.
