Hi massma- We certainly appreciate your loyalty and regret to hear of the issue with the hot indicator light. You should not expect this issue with your new range. When the glass around each burner goes above 150 degrees F, the hot surface light will come on to remind you that the surface is hot. After the unit is turned off, the light will remain on until the area around the burner has cooled to below 150 degrees F. This usually takes about twenty minutes. If the Hot light does not go off after 45 minutes to 1 hour, or the burner continues to cycle with the knob turned to OFF, disconnect power to the range at the breaker or fuse box and please contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment online at http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm?ICID=GEARsupportflyout-service - Thanks for reaching out to us. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem. I just received this new stove today. When the guys delivered it and plugged it in, the light came on immediately and has not gone off. I've called Best Buy but this unit is now on backorder. Is there a fix for this?
