Hello- Thank you for your question. Yes, this model has the option to broil at hi or low heat. Thicker foods and foods that need to be cooked through, should be broiled on a rack position farther from the broiler or by using Broil Lo. The Broil Hi mode uses intense heat from the upper element to sear foods. Broil Hi is for thinner cuts of meat and or foods you prefer less done on the interior. We hope this helps!
