Hi DJ123- Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your portable air conditioner Model APCA14YZBW. We are sorry to hear it is not cooling enough and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. This model is designed to cool rooms up to 550 sq. ft. Maintain a minimum 30” clearance around the air conditioner to not block airflow. Close the doors and windows to the room being cooled to prevent cooled air from escaping. For maximum cooling, press the MODE pad until the COOL indicator light is lit. Press the FAN pad to set HIGH fan speed then press + or - to set the desired temperature between 61°F and 89°F in 1°F increments. The temperature control is used to maintain the room temperature. The compressor will cycle on and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort. Set the temperature control at a lower number and the indoor air will become cooler. Here's the link to the Use and Care Guide (Troubleshooting Tips page 13): https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-5000439-1.pdf - We hope this is helpful. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com. Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to set the temperature for the room. Once it reach that temperature it will shut off or blow the fan. It you want to keep the room cool set the temperature as low as possible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This can be normal as the compressor will turn off and on depending on what the temperature is set at but if you have it turned all the way down to the coldest setting and it hot in the room and the compressor is not on, then it’s probably not operating correctly and needs service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
