The description literally says it’s compatible with the 2.2 profile microwave. Am I missing something here? Need to buy a 27 inch trim kit myself and if 2.2 is required, I will be upset since it won’t fit.

Please try again later.30 in trim kit will work if you have 30 in clear width, 15 in from the center of microwave on both sides where you are planning to install microwave. You also want to check trim kit overlap at top and bottom of microwave to make sure there is no interference. You can download trim kit installation manual to get overlap dimensions. Cabinet cutout dimensions max. And min is required for trim kit to rest around cabinet. Hope this work for you
