Hello Mac, Thanks so much for reaching out. We're terribly sorry to hear that your cooktop is shutting off quickly. We understand how frustrating that can be. If the burner/module is not heating properly or not turning ON and OFF correctly, it is possible the burner is cycling ON and OFF to maintain temperature. It is normal operation for the burner to cycle ON and OFF to maintain the selected temperature. If the burner were to stay ON during the entire cooking time, the heat output would be greater than the set temperature. The burner will turn ON to heat up and then turn OFF to cool back to the selected temperature. Once it cools below the set temperature, the burner will turn ON to heat back up again.
