GE Appliances does not require a ventilation system with our cooktops, including this induction model PHP9036SJSS. However, we do suggest you check the local codes in your area to determine if a vent is necessary in your area. Thank you for checking.

• I would recommend one. It’s not a requirement since this will work without one but if you have a lot of smoke or vapors there is not a vent included with it. And check your local coding requirements, some may require it.
