• The turntable dish does come out for cleaning, but it is designed to fit over the roating central element on the floor of the oven. The instructions say the dish needs to be there when using the oven, so, no you cannot heat things without it. Anyway, a larger dish would not fit in this small oven--get a larger oven if you want to do that.
