“Just bought new GE Microwave PEM31SFSS to replace older one that mounts under the cabinet with the mounting ki. Turned it on to test it with cup of water for 3 minutes and it started blowing hot air underneath. Our old one never did this before.”

Hi there! Thanks for your question and recent purchase. We found that this is normal. The microwave will exhaust heat from the internal components when in operation. The new design may do so differently from the previous model. We hope this helps! Emily@GEA
