Hi GAILM- If installed in a cabinet, it is compatible with GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX827SFSS and Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX830SFSS. 18" Minimum cabinet depth with receptacle in cabinet; 16" minimum cabinet depth with receptacle outside cabinet. We suggest to view the Quick Specs for cabinet cutout dimensions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEM31SF_EF_BM_FM_R2_17.pdf - If it is placed on the counter, be certain to place the front surface of the door 3 inches or more back from the counter top edge to avoid accidental tipping of the appliance in normal usage. Recommended clearances: 3 inches on each side, 3 inches on the top, and 1 inch in the rear. If located on the counter near a range, we recommend locating it at least 2 ft. away. Do not place near or above a heat source. Also, you can free up counter space with optional Undercabinet Hanging Kit JXA019K (sold separately).
