I would leave the closet door open while using the machine. It does create some heat in its surrounding area during the drying mode.

There is no room air used by the system while drying and no warm air exhausted to the room by the ventless Combo. We recommend that you review the installation instructions located on page 22 and 23 of the owner's manual for the location requirements and the minimum clearances required for this unit.
