Hi NoiseSensitive- Our refrigerators continue to be manufactured with as quiet an operation as possible. If the surrounding noise is low, you may hear a low hum from the compressor or a click when the temperature control unit turns the unit on and off. We suggest to check out all the great customer reviews (4.5 out of 5). We'd love to have you in the GE Appliances Family! SUE@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My wife and I have the fridge in our bar which is in the same room as our entertainment center. The fridge does have a quiet hum that initially my wife noticed more I. At this point in time (after having the fridge for a few months) the noise doesn't even register in my mind. It's always been quiet, but now that I am used to it, I don't even hear it. I don't think I've ever noticed the sound enough to distract me during a movie or listening to music. Hopefully that helps you.
