CCA device has NO battery. It only works when fed by 5volt USB. It also only works when logged onto wifi. An external USB battery or a speaker with a USB port would run it untethered to the wall.

Please try again later.you don't charge any type of Chromecast. the power cord (or Micro USB to USB cable) is only used to supply power for the Chromecast to actually operate. if you want, you can just connect the USB side into an open USB port on the back of your TV, those usually have power when the TV is on and the shorter cable looks a lot neater...
