To set it up the Chromecast you do NOT need a credit card account but if you ever want to buy any content from the Google play store you will.

Simply plug the chromecast into the TV and into the power and download the app. The app will search for the chromecast and when the app finds the chromecast you will name it (my bedroom TV or something) then choose your wi-fi and enter your wi-fi password. The chreast will then more than likely do an update and restart itself. After this you are done!
