No, it will not work. The chromecast does not work with Xfinity apps or any third party add-ons. Only approved Google apps like youtube, Netflix, etc. You will need to get something else for this kind of apps.

You can, but not through the app itself. There is a screen mirroring option that will broadcast your device to the chromecast. The only issue with this is that the device must remain on while casting and be positioned in landscape. I have had success viewing the xfinity app in this manner although I did not find it ideal.

You can however download the Chromecast app from Google Play on Android and then enable screen mirroring from your phone to display the images from your phone on the TV.
After its doing that, launch the XFINITY app and stream to your heart's content.

If you log into your Xfinity account on your laptop it should stream.

This isn't natively supported. However, if you have a phone that supports casting your entire screen to a chromecast, you can open the TV Go app (from Xfinity) and stream whatever's playing. There will be some notable lag, but it still works, well ()my own experience).

If you are using the xfinity app on a phone or tablet, then yes you can.

Yes. If the app doesn't give you the option to cast to your tv you can use the option to cast your device's screen to the tv. In this case your device's screen would have to remain on the whole time you are viewing on your tv.

Yes, Chromecast added this feature last year. I have not personally tried it as i got rid of cable all-together. Here is an article:

Also, chomecast has a new feature in beta, screencast, where you can just cast anything on your mobile device's screen to your TV; so whatever is showing on your device's screen will also be on the TV.

Not directly. I use the Chromecast app to mirror my phone screen to chromecast, it takes a minute to figure out the first time, but it works.Unfortunatally, it uses your phone battery, because you are running it from your phone doing it this way. I have the X1 system also.
