No, this is not a memory device. You can't watch missed programs. We can only watch the content that is being played in Chrome browser in laptop or tablet or phone at that point of time. Also, there are very few mobile apps which are compatible with Chromecast and enables us to watch on tv directly from app.(like "dailymotion" which I use the most). I play that app in my htc phone and watch it in tv. You will see the same chromecast icon in the app window through which you can play the same content in tv. Hope this helps

Please try again later.Yes, but your will have to use the chrome browser and the chrome mirroring feature if you watching from a channels website like nbc, cbs, fox, etc. The chrome mirroring feature does not work that well at streaming video. If you are watching a show from a website that is set up for chromecast like netflix it will work a lot better.
