“Does the Chromecast work on 5Ghz band width WiFi? I have one of those cable/wireless modems. The wireless doesn't work good at all so I disabled it and use my own Belkin N600 wireless modem. I run it at the 5Ghz band width instead of the standard 2.4Ghz band width. My wifi works all over my house now. Some devices (like my BlueRay player) don't see the 5Ghz band width. Does Chromecast work with the 5.0 Ghz bandwidth?”

No, I have a dual band Wi-Fi router, and it only saw the 2.4 GHz band

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thanks TechGuy. My Belkin N-600 is dual mode too but I have used 3 different WiFi programs on my tablet and cell phone and only see the 5Ghz band. I don't see the 2.4 band at all. So I guess I can't use the Chromecast. :( My cable/wifi router transmits the 2.4Ghz only about 20 ft so it's useless. Thanks again.
