• Yes, it comes with a ac adapter as well as a usb cable for you to power it through either an outlet or a usb port on your TV, respectively.

• It has to be plugged into the wall during use. If it isn't, my phone can't find it at all to send anything to.

• Yes! The device needs external power via the USB cable included, which can be plugged into either a USB port on the TV, another USB device (laptop or phone with a USB port) or the included power supply. There is no internal battery so the power must be supplied the whole time the device is in use.

• It powers on through a USB port on the tv or an adaptor that comes with it into a standard wall plug.
