Chromecast is basically a package that can connect your smartphone to your TV. Just about any app you have on your phone can be displayed on your tv. For example, if you have a netflix account, download the netflix app. You will than be able to play any show from netflix onto your phone and tv. Same with youtube, hulu, and most apps. Also, there is a screen mirroring feature that I like to use. Here, I can mirror the phone screen to the tv and display it for the entire room (I just did this to watch an NCAA basketball game)! Additional perks: Multiple people can use it (just download the chromecast app) but there are privacy settings if you want to restrict use). If you want to use your phone for other browse, text, calls, etc. the show or program will continue to play in the background on your phone while still displaying on your tv! Hope this helps

Click chromecast button, to start casting channel. TV will turn on and show will be on your screen. Fixer Upper, Rehab Addict do work. And you will need a tablet or smart phone to control it. All of your programming comes from other services.

The list of programs you'd have to look for using those services websites (i.e.- HuluPlus.com, HBOGO.com, Netflix.com, etc). Some networks run the content throught the Chromecast without an account. In order to stream content from the player, you must already subscribe to something like Netflix, or Hulu Plus. You access these from a smartphone or tablet and "cast" it to your tv. I do like this feature more than the fire tv stick or roku player because it's much easier for me to type what I want with my fingers than with a remote. Hope this helps.

Please try again later.Hi there's different apps like Netflix and others you can get to use on your chrome cast or cast something from a Internet screen now but you have to have the chrome cast hooked up to a Hotspot or some type of Internet connection WiFi hope that helps
