I want to use this camera on the ceiling of my garage pointed down at the garage door. While I back my boat into the garage I want to view real time video on my iPhone in the truck to see the blind side. Will this camera be suitable for this? null

The camera has a 1-2 second delay.

YES...but the only thing you have to watch for is your internet connection. If it's not too strong at the time there may be a delay in what you are seeing. I've seen from right on LIVE to as much as 5 seconds delay.

It has a lag of a second or two, so it probably won't work well enough to be a back-up camera. It should be able to be mounted as you describe and it will let you monitor your stuff/truck though.

I think it could work for that purpose, but the slight delay of a few seconds will likely drive you nuts. Its possible if you have super fast internet the delay may not be as bad.

It would work but remember there is a slight delay in the video because the footage is being streamed across the internet to your mobile device. In other words it isn't real time, your movement may show up several seconds later on video.

The camera video speed is pretty quick, but know that you aren't streaming directly from the camera. You're really streaming from the Google server on the net since the video goes to the Google server first before going to your app or similar.

It should work, but you will need to drive extremely slowly. I experience a 2 second latency between the real world and what I see on my cameras. This will vary depending upon your ISP and a number of factors in the network topology between your camera, NestCams cloud servers and your mobile device.

For your application, I'd recommend looking at digital cameras that have a decent mobile app for remotely viewing and triggering images. Several companies offer these. GoPro, Nikon and likely most other major brands. With those, you would see the images immediately (for practical purposes) as they are happening...with far less latency (delay). You could even mount the camera on your trailer to see the action up close, since they are battery operated. You could even take it with you and use it away from your home when needed.
