No Subscription as needed. Just follow the instructions and install it super easy! All you need is Wi-Fi. And download the app and you’re all set.

Cameras do not require a subscription. You do a get a trial version of the subscription which allows you to record history, but I didn't feel I needed to keep it.

Works great. Had a little issue installing the door latch, it didn’t want to extend but it broke free eventually. Great install videos on YouTube.

While the Nest Cam doesn't require Nest Aware to function, if you don’t purchase a Nest Aware subscription when the free trial ends, your camera will no longer record and store video to the cloud. Your video history will expire and be deleted as soon as the trial ends. Without a subscription for your camera, you’ll still get snapshots in your Sightline when your camera detects sound or motion (up to 3 hours into the past), but you will only be able to stream and view that camera’s live footage and any video clips that you’ve saved to your account in the Nest app.
